ACE Event August 2009

As part of our ongoing goal of achieving ACE gold, this months event involved employee shadowing. This event involved 6 office employees and the Production Manager spending time on the production floor shadowing individual technicians as they went about their normal work day. The aim of the event was to break down the barriers within our organization and enable our employees to understand different tasks and observe with a new set of eyes the way we do repairs. This event has generated several ideas for future Kaizens as well as some quick win opportunities. It has also allowed us to understand that our ACE team pilots are best kept away from welding and painting parts, but should we need an additional grit blast operator, we know we can turn to Lourdes!
