JAS Teams up with FIU and UTC to improve Lead Time

JAS teamed up with FIU and United Technology Corp. (UTC) to reduce the lead time of our combustor cell. This project included a complete makeover of our combustor cell layout as well as how we process these combustors. The project took several months of collecting data and working on cell layout. The end result is a reduction of turn time of over 20%, while the true affect will not be felt for several more months due to training and the team learning new ways of doing business, there has already been a significant improvement in rework and general flow of parts. We would like to thank all of those people that played a major role in seeing this through, in particular Paul Schmelke (UTC), Giovannoni, Andres Antunez, and Laura Lopez (FIU) and the complete JAS ACE committee lead by Andrew Walmsley.
